Our Approach to Therapy
At Palo Verde Speech Therapy, we bring nearly 30 years of education and experience to improve functional outcomes for your child experiencing communication difficulties. Benefits of our treatment model include:
Opportunities for demonstrating strategies with caregivers
Collaboration on goals and techniques
Check-ins on progress and adjustments to techniques
Connection to child and family centered routines
Our treatment sessions align evidence-based practice interventions with child-friendly, engaging activities in age-appropriate 30-minute session durations to better maintain a young child’s attention and focus.
Evaluations to Get to the Root of the Issue
Evaluations
Evaluations are an essential component of evidence based treatment. Evaluations identify specific areas where a child’s communication skills are not developing as expected and will be used to guide treatment decisions and goal setting.
Conducted by an American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) certified Speech Language Pathologist
Standardized and/or non-standard descriptive assessments may be used
Includes a comprehensive written summary of evaluation findings with treatment plan recommendations
Evaluations are valid for 12 months and must be completed before implementing a treatment plan.

Enhancing skills in overall functional communication
Improving skills in social communication
Strengthening skills in reading comprehension and written expression
Impairments in receptive and expressive language including difficulties with comprehension and use of vocabulary, grammar, and social language can impact a child’s ability to advocate for their wants and needs, achievement of age and grade level milestones, and social interactions with family, teachers, and peers.
